Monte L. Miller

Prior to attending law school, Monte L. Miller served as undersheriff of Chase County and obtained a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Washburn University in 1981. Monte went on to obtain his J.D. from Washburn University School of Law in 1984, and founded Miller & Miller with his father and former Lyon County District Court Judge Honorable R.E. Miller.

In his practice, Monte has served as Assistant Lyon County Counselor, Assistant Lyon County Court Trustee, Special Counsel for Lyon County Board of Tax Appeals, Special Prosecutor for Lyon, Chase, and Coffey Counties, Pro-Tem District Judge for Lyon, Chase, and Greenwood Counties, as well as Pro-Tem Municipal Judge for Emporia and Madison.

In the community, Monte presently serves on the Emporia Metropolitan Planning Commission, as well as the Board of Directors for Crime Stoppers, the Emporia Humanitarian Center, and the United Way of Emporia.
